Wicks From The Sticks: Candle & Craft Co-Op has expanded with a new storefront at 101 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls.
Alongside their home-grown candle company local entrepreneurs, Megan and Jeremiah Arnold have invited over 40 local artisans to join them at a new storefront.
They plan to hold grand re-opening for the storefront on Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24.
Wicks From The Sticks has been located at 264 Warren St. in Glens Falls for the past year and quickly outgrew their location. Setting their focus on local artisans, do-it-yourself classes, children’s birthday parties and craft events, it was not long before hey knew they needed a bigger space.
The new store will feature Megan Arnold’s soy wax candles and serve as a one-stop shop for upstate New York artisan treasures. The cooperative craft store will stock everything from locally up-cycled décor and rustic designs to scented bath products.
Arnold said she knew she wanted to have a store front from the moment she sold her first candle.
“I’ve met many great small business owners since starting Wicks From The Sticks. I wanted to give other local artisans like me a chance to show upstate New York all the creativity we have to offer as a community,” she said.
With a constantly expanding line of products, a group of local artisans by their side and a large space to host do-it-yourself classes, children’s birthday parties and other events, the Arnold’s are excited to take this next step with their business.
“Last year when we opened our first brick and mortar, we started with 10 local artisans. We are now opening our second brick and mortar with over 40 local artisans. The difference one year can make is incredible,” Arnold said.
The store will be open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Since the winter of 2014, Arnold has focused on providing soy wax candles that are locally handmade and cost less than commercial candles. The all natural soy base for the candles has no toxic chemicals and are much healthier for consumers and their pets.
