The Warren County Tourism Department has released its 2020 Travel Guide.
The travel magazine highlights the first-hand experiences guests and customers can discover in the region.
Officials said the guide is an essential tool for business owners who want to offer guests recommendations on the best activities the Lake George Area has to offer. Its pages have information about amusement parks, hiking, fishing, boating, dining, arts and culture, history, four-season fun, and more.
The Tourism Department will deliver copies to any lodging property, restaurant, attraction, or store that wants them. They also mail thousands of these guides to people who are interested in visiting the Lake George Area.
Warren County residents and business owners are welcome to drop in to the Tourism Department to pick up Travel Guides, stickers and other promotional materials at any time. The department can be reached at events@warrencountyny.gov or at 518-761-6366.
The Tourism Department’s mission is to responsibly promote and support the tourism industry in the Lake George Area through marketing, collaboration and honest communication with regional tourism partners and visitors.

Fort Ann Rotary Club and Lavenlair Farm donated $1,000 to Fort Ann Central School District’s Family Outreach Center’s Weekend Backpack Program. The Backpack Program is available to participating families free of cost.
The Weekend Backpack Program provides a weekend’s worth of food for children and their families who participate in this program. Every Friday that school is in session, a bag filled with non-perishable food items is sent home thus providing a weekend’s worth of food for these children and their families.
The program addresses the issues of food insecurity and chronic hunger that is faced by many families in our area. Donations and volunteers contribute to the program’s success.

Saratoga Hospital Volunteer Guild is accepting scholarship applications from Saratoga County high school seniors interested in pursuing careers in healthcare.
Applications and more information are available at local high school guidance offices, the hospital front desk and www.saratogahospital.org/aboutus/volunteering.
The deadline to apply is March 20.
The guild has provided scholarships since 1990 to help educate future healthcare providers. This year, it will offer up to five $1,500 scholarships. To be eligible, students must be entering college in September, have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and have a documented record of community service, especially in a healthcare environment.
Scholarship recipients will be honored at the Saratoga Hospital Volunteer Guild’s annual recognition dinner on May 7.

The Charles R. Wood Foundation is currently accepting grant applications from 501(c)3 organizations whose projects or programs assist children, healthcare or the arts in the Lake George region and surrounding areas.
Eligible applicants are invited to visit www.charlesrwoodfoundation.com to submit an online application by April 1 for consideration at the spring meeting of trustees.
The next subsequent deadline will be Sept. 1 for consideration at the fall meeting.
Over the past five years the foundation has awarded over $8 million. The foundation announced a new initiative in 2019 aimed at improving the overall health of the population in the region and will continue to accept collaborative applications from organizations serving Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Hamilton, Montgomery, Warren, and Washington counties.
