The Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB is teaming up with Collette Tours to offer a trip to Rome and the Amalfi Coast in March 2019.

Included in this 10-day trip are 13 meals and an itinerary including beautiful accommodations and tours of historic sites in Rome as well as a the excavated ruins of Pompeii and a winery at the foothills of Mount Vesuvius.

Attendees will explore a Mediterranean paradise on the Bay of Naples, cruise to the island of Capri, tour a local Buffalo milk mozzarella factory and more.

Airfare and transportation to and from the airport is covered in the price.

Lake George Chamber Of Commerce Takes Over As Leader For Beverage Trail Promotion

The Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce has transferred the Adirondack Craft Beverage Trail initiative to the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB.

“The ARCC is a business-to-business Chamber in that we strive to partner and support regional businesses by providing programs, resources and opportunities to connect all industries in an effort to grow, succeed and thrive,” said Amanda K. Blanton, ARCC marketing and communications manager.  “While the Adirondack Craft Beverage Trail was certainly successful in promoting the growth of the craft beverage industry, we feel that the initiative is a better fit for a tourism-focused Chamber and CVB and are excited to see the program continue in the hands of the LGRCC.”

A five-star rating indicates that the bank excels in areas of capital adequacy, profitability, asset quality and much more. Adirondack Trust has earned and maintained this top honor for more than 10 years, putting it in an the position as an “exceptional performance bank”. This designation is reserved for those banks securing a 5-Star rating for 10 years or longer.

To ensure regional access to the broadest array of healthcare services available, Glens Falls Hospital announced in December that they would be selling their renal dialysis service to DCI (Dialysis Clinic, Inc.), the nation’s leading nonprofit dialysis provider.

The hospital officially transferred ownership of its outpatient renal dialysis program on Broad Street in Glens Falls to DCI on June 1, officials said. They do not expect that patients will experience any changes to their treatment schedule during this transition.

The new phone number for DCI is 518-252-0008 and the fax number is 518-252-0016.

The Adirondack Trust Co. Community Fund is accepting grant applications from eligible nonprofit charities headquartered in the Saratoga, Warren and Washington counties.

Applications will be accepted through Aug.  31.  

Grant information and application forms may be obtained from the Adirondack Trust Co. Community Fund website at www.atccf.org/nonprofits 

The fund was established in 2009 to build an endowment that acts as a perpetual source of funding for the broad array of nonprofit organizations which improve the quality of life in the community and to assist them in addressing issues of common concern.

The Women in Business group of the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive on March 22 at the Holiday Inn Resort at 2223 Canada St. in Lake George.

People can sign up to donate at redcrossblood.org.

On April 21, the group will help Double H Ranch during its annual Spring Clean Up Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interested volunteers in the group may contact Women in Business co-chairperson Toni Cunningham at tcunningham@nathealthcare.com to sign up.

The ARCC Leadership Adirondack program, now in its 27th year, accepts prospective leaders from regional businesses, and provides them opportunities for personal and professional growth. Through a series of sessions and tours, the class learns about different industries and the economic drivers in the region.

Each year, the Leadership Adirondack class chooses a fundraising project submitted by area nonprofit organizations. Last year’s class raised over $8,000 for the Family Service Association of Glens Falls. This year, the class has chosen the Open Door Mission.

Open Door is a faith based organization committed to filling the gaps in services not provided elsewhere in the community.

The 2017 New York State Fair awarded the Argyle Cheese Farmer a gold medal for its plain Greek yogurt, the highest award in this category.

The company also won gold medals for its Sweet Greek chocolate mousse yogurt in 2016 and its maple Greek yogurt in 2015.  In addition, its Amazing Grace aged cheese also won a silver medal in 2016.

Lake George Region Restaurant Week is in progress, running through Saturday, Sept. 16.

The Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB announce the participating restaurants in the second Restaurant Week of 2017 are: Adirondack Pub & Brewery, the Algonquin, the Barnsider Restaurant, the Boathouse Restaurant, Ciro’s at Rocky Ridge, Giovanna’s on the Lake at The Georgian, the Inn at Erlowest, the Log Jam, the Lobster Pot Mario’s Restaurant, Mama Riso’s and Sushi Yoshi.

The first Restaurant Week this year took place in June.

“We’re lucky to have a restaurant selection in the region that is rich in variety and led by such culinary talent,” said Chamber Marketing Director Amanda May Metzger. “You can really see their creativity in the menus provided by these 12 excellent establishments.”

During this special week, dining patrons can enjoy a prix-fixe three-course meal for only $20.17, not including tax or gratuity.

“As we see from our restaurant week surveys, this special week is an introduction for many people to new restaurants. We also see quite a few people from out of town filling out surveys,” Metzger said.

The Adirondack Trust Co. Community Fund will accept grant applications from eligible nonprofit charities until Sept. 30.

Grant information and application forms may be obtained from the Adirondack Trust Company Community Fund website at ATCCF.org/nonprofits.

 The fund was established in 2009. Officials said the resulting yearly Lend-a-Hand grants help improve the quality of life and address issues of common concern in the area. In 2016, the Community Fund allocated $42,270 toward 23 Lend-a-Hand grants. The  grants funded local, nonprofit organizations’ programs in such diverse areas as veterans’ outreach, mental health services, wildlife education, homelessness prevention, youth services, and the arts.

 Grant recipients will be announced by the fund’s Independent Advisory Committee in December.

Over the past six years, the Community Fund has provided 101 grants in excess of $193,000.
